October 18-19, 2014

Saturday 8am-5pm

Sunday 8:30am-5pm

14 PDA and CE Credits, Pending NCCAOM and NCBTMB Approval

In this class we explore the core hand techniques of Tui Na as movements that generate waveforms in the body in order to remove stagnation and awaken the flow of Qi. We will look at the body from the perspective of the Ancestral Sinews, the 5 Pivots that govern our upright posture through the spinal curvature and the 3 bony cavities. We will also learn how the Ancestral Sinews relate directly to how we use touch to send waveforms through the body for healing. This is a hands-on, experiential class suitable for both beginners and experienced Tui Na practitioners. This class includes Qigong exercises that relate to the hand techniques of Tui Na.

Cost: $230 pre-registration; $280 if registered after October 2, 2014

Shen Long Xingyi is an ancient Chinese internal martial art that cultivates correct posture, strength and balance. We will begin with 2 months of Fu Hu Gong, a set of exercises designed to strengthen the body and rectify the structure. The goal is to promote health by restoring the mobility of the joints, recovering from old injuries, increasing blood and qi circulation, and promoting health of the organs through proper posture and structural mobility.

Fu Hu Gong is physically demanding, however everyone is encouraged to participate at their own pace with the only requirement being a willingness to make an effort.

The class will continue on through a system of individual, two-person and weapons forms each cultivating a different aspect of strength, mobility, balance, and control of the body.

A community wellness tool that uses a standardized auricular acupuncture protocol for behavioral health, including addictions, mental health, and disaster & emotional trauma.
The protocol involves the placement of small, sterilized, disposable stainless steel needles in five specific locations on each ear of a client receiving treatment. Treatment is typically completed in a group setting on a regular basis and lasts 30-45 minutes per session. During sessions, little interaction between the client and provider occurs and is mostly non-verbal. The NADA Acu-Detox protocol has been successful in reducing cravings for addictions including drugs and alcohol and lessening withdrawal symptoms. Clients report being more relaxed and comfortable after receiving this treatment.
